Now, we have a herd of about 60
breeding females in the hills of southwest Wisconsin. Producing show
animals has become our priority over the last few years, and we are
concentrating on quality standards, beiges, ebonies and violets.
We have some wonderful bloodlines in our herd, including Dark Star, Somavia, Bradford, JAGS, Shoots, Designer Critters, West, Merritt, and Hummel.
Active in the chinchilla industry at the state and national
levels, we helped to start the Wisconsin MCBA Chapter in 2004, where I serve as President and Brent serves as Secretary/Treasurer. I am also Secretary/Treasurer for the ECBC WI Branch and serve
as a director on the MCBA National Board as a chapter advisor and membership
director. I am a sanctioned judge for both MCBA and ECBC and have trained with some of the best ranchers the country has to offer - Jim Ritterspach, Gene & Ellis Adcock, Vin Somavia, Rich Ryerson, Dave Woods, Ralph Shoots, Joe Brown and Joe Butler.
We
enjoy participating in shows and visiting with other chinchilla
ranchers. MCBA & ECBC offer ranchers, big and small, as well as pet owners, a wealth of knowledge and networking in all aspects of chinchilla. We encourage anyone with interest in chinchillas to join either or both organizations.
